Vic is a karate instructor, approximately 40 years old. While sparring with one of his students, he found himself in a tight neck grasp. As he tried to free himself, he realized that his right arm and leg suddenly went limp and weak, and he was unable to speak. After being rushed to the ER, Vic underwent a series of tests, including routine bloodwork, an electocardiogram, a CAT scan, and an MRI. The CAT scan came back normal, but his bloodwork showed elevated cholesterol. The MRI showed evidence of cerebral ischemia in the middle cerebral artery. There was no evidence of a cardiac embolism on a subsequent echocardiogram, although further testing showed a plaque in his carotid artery. Once the doctors removed the plaque from his carotid, both his hemiplegia and his aphasia improved. Vic was placed on a regimen of clopidogrel and Crestor and referred for speech therapy. He was also cautioned to avoid neck holds in the near future. 1) what condition/conditions is being descrebed. 2) which brain areas are being affected? 3) How would treatments affect brain? 4) how explain all symptoms? Relate each symption to a specific brain area or neurotransmitter? 5) what other interventions are possible besides those noted here? If you can answer any of the question, that would be great.

Clopidogrel is sold in Canada. For some reason it's not allowed in the United States.Why isn't it?

After experiencing transient ischemic attacks (TIAs),a patient has been started on clopidogrel (Plavix). He has had a history of atherosclerotic heart disease and has had problems with peptic ulcer disease. Explain to him why he is on this medication. What does he need to be taught to report to his doctor while taking this medication? What herbal products should be avoided while taking this medication?

Clopidogrel. After 3 weeks, Aspirin was removed due to bruises. And last week Clopidogrel was also removed coz of big bruises. The cardio did not replace anymore these two. Any comment on this?

How many days before elective surgery one has to stop the asprin and clopidep with history of prvious angioplasty done 1 year back
